My first time in Great Basin N.P. and I discovered this sweet spot while hiking that day. After dinner I headed 1.5 miles back up to this spot & got comfy for the evening. I used all the lights I could get together and placed them along the trail to light up specific trees. Then I hiked back to camp in the dark because night hiking is awesome.
This is the Milky Way in the northern sky, with Andromeda in the upper left corner. I lit up the rocks by reflecting light from my headlamp onto a sap filled scar on a nearby tree.
